Selling TTDK2 server source and client source

I'm unsure what ttdk2 means, if you could elaborate on it.

I would be rather interested in these files that I might be able to expand on them and maybe code up some new material. However, I would want to make sure that these are the literal source files and not "source" as in a copy of a VM that every other server in existence likes to claim is "source".

Is this the uncompiled code?

How much are you looking for all of this and are you willing to support it post-purchase for someone who wants to fiddle with it and get it up and running?

I'm not looking to make a server to host, just something to work on in my own time. If it works out maybe I'll host the new version. This all just relies on if this is actual code or just a copy of a VM.

TTDK2 is some other server that was similar to DK2.
It existed a long time ago.

This includes the source code of both server and client.

The client source code compiles with visual c++ 6.0.
The client compiles easily, but for the other stuff and tools you may need to adjust configuration.

It needs some cleaning though because previous owner(s) made a mess by keeping old and new versions of libraries in the project, and it's not easy to see which libraries were used or not.

The server source code I compiled on a very old operating system in vmware.
It includes a script that installs old compiler and old dependencies needed to compile.

I didn't try to compile it on centos yet, but the server ran successfully on centos 6.6.

That is EXACTLY what I want to do!

I'm tired of playing on "Engrish" servers with extremely poor translations. Also, if it is truly the source code I and my team can work on balancing a lot of the skills and crap that went crazy.


I would like to have some form or way of confirming this is actual code before thinking of investing in it. Would fkskfksfk be able to provide me some sort of sample of the code that is not a screenshot? As in actual file that I may download, look at, and determine for myself if this is worth it or not?

I quit darkeden recently.
I was waiting for the de united admin to reopen his server, but it's safe to say he won't.

I gave these files to a friend of mine who was trying to make a darkeden int lookalike, but eventually he got very angry and quit too.

What he told me was the files had alot of garbage code that started to drive him crazy.
Maybe softons copies of the source code were cleaner, or the old darkeden int source code.
However, everybody I asked didn't have these.


I have the ttdk2 files on my other computer, maybe I can look this week if I have time.

It sounds like he was trying to do it on his own, I have a group of friends (we are all programmers of various languages) that are interested.

My concerns are as follows:

** This is not actual code it is just another copy of a virtual machine. It doesn't sound like it yet, but it would be interesting to see.
** I am under the impression you want a pretty penny for this stuff. Two issues with that is: One, DarkEden 1 is going to become irrelevant quickly and in a short time when DarkEden 2 comes out and someone finds a way to copy it to the USA/EU aka English (or poorly translated version) \\\\ Two, I understand the desire to get money for this but most people on this forum are not rolling in money and would rather have someone else do the work.


If you were able to hand me these files my intention would be to go through them, understand what is going on with the code, clean it up and refine it. Then I would work with my friends to start translating what we could and maybe add some new content. We have a lot of ideas of what we would like and what people from all the different DarkEden communities have asked for in the past. If need be we may be able to work out a deal that if we can get these files cleaned up, working, and make something of them (like a real English server not what we have right now) you would be able to not only give input of what you'd like in it but have a cut in whatever we may earn.

There is a LOT we are wanting to do and waiting on you to see if we can get it started.

So what will it be?

Someone noted that they are tired of the "Engrish" servers. However these are the same files that Darkeden Evil Town, which was the FIRST Chinese server to have Violent Phantom look exactly like 161 claws.

It was the same files that 'badman2' Had when Rodney sold Darkeden Extreme to him, I was the FIRST GM for that server.

Moral of the story, 99% of darkeden files are in Chinese or Korean. and will have major chinglish in them.

Correct, and the way you'd go about fixing them is to go through the files and re-name everything to English. Large task? Sure is! Impossible? I think not.

Hence the need for the source code and not some VirtualMachine knock offs of the already compiled code.

My team and I have already developed a website that we can drop on a server to start hosting the files. We just need said files to sort through, translate / rename, fix a few of the bugs and make it worthwhile to play.

Hell I am half tempted just to create an entire new forum for the discussion of this server to get thoughts and feedback from the community as we work towards obtaining this code.

However, the OP has not been very helpful with this task. :/ Anyone else able to assist?

i have these actually and you need a really old os to complie the src.
i have both server src and client src along with everything to install and sql.
i personally never got the src working due reason cannot find rhel 3 or linux with glibc 2.3


linux distribution that supports glibc 2.3.
libc23 Platform independent, should run on any Linux distribution that supports glibc 2.3
rhel3, rhel4 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 or 4
sles9, sles10 SuSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 or 10

Even if you manage to compile it, it's very buggy. It will be very frustrating to fix those bugs.

Did you have the client source compiled?
