Choosing a Class to play with. Empty
PostSubject: Choosing a Class to play with.   Choosing a Class to play with. Icon_minitimeWed Jan 14, 2015 5:04 am

If I find something new about a class, I will update it.

While I was quite a hardcore darkeden player back in the day. (Started playing Darkeden int pre hacks and played until it closed, after that played a few other servers up until RA bug got fixed on most servers, after that I started to play less and less.) Anyways after coming back to DE I found only high experience servers which are quite booring and finally ended up here, but I had never seen the new skills and items, so my goal during beta is to test out different classes/builds to decide which one I'll start playing during 8x and I figured I might aswell point some things out about the classes I have tested or am testing so if you're someone like me who hasn't played with new updates, then you'd at least have some information to choose your class.

Dex/Str Vampire
He is as good as he used to be, but... better. He has a lot of new things to rely on to make him stronger than he was before such as passive skills that increase his health to pretty high values, new active skills that Increase HP and even new and improved claw skills. The only problem I see with him is the fact that Darkness seems to be weaker than it used to, so getting perma ccw/water explo-d seems rather easy. PvM seems to be easy due to high amount of hp, defense and protection that comes from the new and improved items, new skills and  higher stat values on items. There are really 2 things that I don't like about the PvM aspect of this build which are 1) Int vampires are way more effective at mobbing. 2) It is just plain booring.
Good Points:
*High Hp/Def/Pro - Easy time leveling at high level locations.
*Strong at team fighting - New skills give a lot more power to this build, but you need teammates not to get perma locked down by cc.
*Good at Vampire vs Vampire
*Easy to pick up because there aren't many hotkeys.
Bad Points:
*Leveling up is really dull - All you do is use 4 skills which are (Bat storm, Claw Skill, Drain, Rapid Gliding) [After jc you probably won't even use Drain]
*Hard to master PvP - While having less hotkeys makes the build easier to pick up, you'll have less options later in PvP.
*Bad at Mobbing - At higher level the INT vampires will have enough survivability to also level at higher level maps, but they can just PvM so much better.
*Bad at 5+ vs 5+ PvP - Other races are much better at teamfighting and while you can win 3v3 due to being solo beasts, anything higher is really difficult and only do-able with better gear and higher levels than the opponent team.

Int/Dex Vampire

This build is by far the best PvM build for vampires. The new skills added more damage and survivability to this build, but it also made it harder to play... you only have that many hotkeys. The leveling is pretty easy and later on much more fun than just spamming 1 CLAW skill all day. While the PvM aspect is nice, the PvP is pretty damn hard, but luckily int vampires have a better ress now, so they can keep their team alive in extended team fights.
Good Points:
*Good at Mobbing - Easy to level up
*High amount of skills - You'll have a lot more fun leveling this build than the melee one, simply because you can do so much more skills Very Happy
*Good at ~3v3 - Vampires have pretty high damage and fun curses to wreck the other races, now they even have Bloody Wings to keep themselves alive Smile
*Pvp is easier than it is for melee vamps. - Even if you're bad at pvp, you can spam darkness/curses to help your team.
Bad Points:
*Needs High Level/ Good Gear - While you can effortlessly Mob at decent leveling spots by just having some Hps, you need high level skills/gear to actually survive the best places.
*Harder to get used to - More skills = More confusion
*Bad at 5+ vs 5+ PvP - Other races are much better at teamfighting and while you can win 3v3 due to being solo beasts, anything higher is really difficult and only do-able with better gear and higher levels than the opponent team.
*Bad at Vamp vs Vamp - Nothing really you can do vs melee vamps, they'll just wipe their asses with you.
